The principle of sustainable development is at the heart of JW Craft Studio. As creators, we respect the importance of sourcing sustainable timber.
We source our timber locally, supporting a local sawmill based in Herefordshire, well established as a leading British sawmill. The sawmill is part of the UK charity, Woodland Heritage.
Our aim is to continue to source our timber supplies from well-managed UK woodlands and estates, to help promote the sustainability and legacy of our native timber.
Buying British grown timber sustains native woodlands by directly supporting the management and upkeep of woodland, helping to keep rural employment and skills alive.
We are working to improve and promote this country’s whole timber supply chain from tree planting and management, through processing to quality end products.
We also upcycle and reuse surplus materials, keeping finite natural resources out of the waste stream and reducing the impact on our environment.
